Way Wipers on Tailstocks

When did they start putting wipers on tail stocks? I see the parts in older catalogs but my 1941 16" does not have this. Did they ever add these to taper attachment outriggers?

Dunno, wouldn’t be too hard to make some and tap the base. I know my 60’s CL8145B has them. No wipers on the outrigger though. I just leave the outrigger off to prevent way wear.
 
Thought about adding them...Sheldon I just picked up has them.

Actually, not having them is a PITA and a blessing at the same time for me. Makes me wipe down the tailstock ways front to back and re-oil every time I use it, or move it after use.
