In the process of restoring a 9A and just cleaned up and painted the 1/2 HP single phase GE motor. Pretty sure it's original, or at least vintage. Haven't powered it up yet, so I'm not even sure it runs. It has oil cups on the end bearings. What type oil should be used for this? From what I've read, it seems oiling is only needed once or twice a year? Is this correct? Thanks!

3 in 1 oil, or Mars all purpose oil. Once twice a year if just used occasionally, maybe more often if running it 8 hours a day.

Totally correct. I took apart my GE motor and restored it, so I have a ton of photos if interested.
This is the Lube tag that was on my motor and this is what's inside the cups (felt).

I ended up using the spindle oil for both the motor and countershaft, it works well. Doesn't take very much in the motor.
