Workshop 9" tail stock Help please

I may be posting this in the wrong place and I apologize if I am but I am in need of this piece for my tail stock as it was missing when I purchased the machine, so can someone help me out with a nice part or lead me in the right direction to obtain a nice one?

It is called a quill. It has a nut in the back of it, that you are likely also missing.

Yes I often call that a quill.
The top or tool slide we often call the compound.(compound rest or slide a few call it the protractor slide.)

before you buy anything best to find out what you're dealing with.

no point in spending good money on a quill only to find out the casting bore is trashed.

might be your best option is to just buy a whole tailstock in decent condition...

So make a good measure if the quill bore and ask the right questions, know the height of a used tailstock may not equal the height of your head stock..
