I have a revolving tailstock chuck with a #6 Morse taper. The bearing body is 11" diameter and has a 16" 4 jaw chuck fitted.

I picked this up thinking I would change it to a 5MT and fit a 10-12" chuck to it, but I'd probably be smarter to pass it on to somebody with a bigger machine and buy what I need.

Build one, easier on the wallet.

Snatch-up a parted-out headstock with a common spindle-mount is the way to do it on-the cheapest.

Unless you luck into a cheap used-but-good T&C grinder head. My one is 50-taper. Stout enough. Compact enough. Common "enough" to tool w/o too damned much pain in the side of the arse the wallet rides-on. "A" section vee-belt pulley, even.
