Got these trading and have no use for them. They are as found and i know nothing beyond what they look like.


J Head- 1 HP 3 PH US motor turns fine. pulleys turn fine. All I have is what is shown in pics. J head is sold.

May be interested in trading for/towards tooling and parts related to South Bend Heavy 9 (need all three doors for UMD cabinet) tooling for Index model 40H or ?

M head- no motor or motor pulley sheave. Data plate missing from front. Casting seems good. Quill turns and moves. Partially disassembled with parts still attached to crate. All if have is what is shown in pics. $250 plus shipping

Three questions:

Cost of the ride?

How will the head be packaged-secured to safely ship?

Crucial question; What is the taper in the quill?
B&S 7 taper, Morse #2 taper, B3 Bridgeport

B3 has a 7/16" 20 draw bar threads the endmill end .800 OD

and an OAL of 3 3/32"


BS 7 has 3/8"16 and the endmill end will measure .730 OD with

an overall length of 2 7/8"


No 2 morse is 3/8"16 the endmill end measures .709 OD and the

length is 2 7/8"

The drawbar thread identifies with the B3 or B&S and Morse
Major diameter in the spindle bore should determine between B&S and Morse
