Not exactly. Steel is iron with the addition of elemental carbon, among other things.

Without any verification of the condition of the surface, those are castings which could become surface plates with some time and skill.

I'd be interested to see a shot of the underside. The better one's I've seen have webbing lifting it up on 3 points. The less effective ones are just a cast iron box.
