D1-6 to 5C collet chuck wanted

Figured I'd ask if anyone has a surplus unit on here before I buy a new one...

If you do not find one. this is what I did I took the lathe dog driving plate that came with my lathe and mount a plate to it that I bolted a bison 5c chuck to it . I made a recess deep enough and thick enough fo stear around screws to dial it in .

I have a D1 6 flex collett, and a D1 6 that takes a 2J, but no 5C if that's any help but it sounds like you have the collets

Ditto the 2j collet comment, if you already have a set of 5C you want to stick with them; understand. I believe 2J collets go up to 1 3/8" in capacity though, which is nice. Used Sjogren D1-6 / 2J collet chucks and collets often come up on eBay in nice condition. Thought to mention that option.

I don’t actually have collets, but i like the idea of larger ones now I’m thinking more about it...

I also have a box of flex collets, I think one may be missing though. Flex collets have their purpose but are no substitute for rigid collets. If you have an interest I can send you a picture and a price with a PM. Price will be reasonable.
