Eagan, Minnesota -- Lots of End Mills, hardened aluminum blocks, toolbox. $4200.

Bunch of different sized machinist End Mills for sale - Researched and found the total value of the mills alone to be $3,860 retail as of now. Discounted each one for between 15-25%, and selling as a packaged deal with a medium sized metal toolbox, 50-80 lbs of hardened aluminum blocks of various sizes, all worth a total of around 4,400-4,600 (depending on the current value of the aluminum which I don't know). Selling all together for $4200 (down from 4500 originally). Will help you load it as well, you can pull into a heated garage to pick it up and assess the pieces, I've meticulously gone through them and found 3 to have been used/chipped, removed them from the pile. I kept them, so if you want the ones that aren't perfect, they're free with the rest of the stuff.

Everything in the pictures will be included (except for the table the mills are set up on). Detailed List will be put up later today or tomorrow. Also the toolbox everything is in will be included, however I will have to take a picture of that tomorrow and get it posted up here.

You're WAY to high...........................Ali is worth $.20-30\lb to a hobby guy. Endmills are worth maybe 1/2 of new at best....................

Yea, you'd be lucky to get $50-80 total for those aluminum cutoffs. Maybe you'd do better to list em individually on ebay but that's honestly hardly worth the effort. Also agree with the reply above, those cutting tools likely wont fetch more than 25-50% of retail...

Yep. Insanely high. Listen to what these guys are saying and you can make a sale. If you don't your stuff will just end up sitting. And sitting. And sitting. Many of us have already learned thst lesson, no matter how stubbornly we had to be dragged to the realization.

My own personal experience says almost any time you try to sell a brand new in the packaging never opened item, you are looking at getting a max of 50% of new price. Items that aren't high demand you're looking at closer to 25%, sometimes even less. Low demand items will often cost more in shipping than sale price. This is more or less item specific. Check eBay's "sold" listings for a decent idea of value.

100 bucks for the end mills. Don't want the "hardened" aluminum or the tool box. My brother lives in Northfield, he will pick up and pay cash.

yep, knock a zero off that, and MIGHT sell that stuff if it is in new condition. thing is, buying a cutting tool isn't like buying a box of bolts , the ONLY value to a serious user is the 2 thousandths of an inch along the cutting edge, and it can be easily damaged by miss-handling like dropping it or storing in contact with each other, so even an unused one can be worthless.

you don't even state they are unused, just imply that, and don't show pictures of the actual cutters, anyone would be pretty foolish to buy given the above. just the reality of it. nice of you to offer for us to "back into a heated garage".... but what you would do to the poor sucker next isn't so nice...

I bet you won't get 10 cents an hour for all the time you put searching that info up and typing that list.

Without knowing the alloy the aluminum is worth what the scrap man will pay. I can't use it without certs.

AAAALRIGHT Fellas, I thought I'd get an email to any responses here. You guys are RIGHT - I'm NOT a machinist -- I'm quite new to the whole thing and don't intend to really learn TOO MUCH about something that's not in my career as I believe learning ALL the alloys, purposes, angles, etc would have no purpose to me..., however I do appreciate all the tips, comments and wonderful things you folks had to say. All of the endmills ARE un-used. The situation is this;

Friend moved out owing me money. For an entire year he left his whole toolbox of NEW, UNUSED end mills with a few used ones sitting, written clearly on top, along with the other stuff, in MY apartment. I did sit down for like 6 hours researching the parts, soooo yeah. Prolly a huge waste of time, to what I was originally thinking was a "lost treasure". I apologize for having wasted anyone elses time. He had told me that the "Resale value" was 80% or more if he were to ever need to sell them, THUS I thought I was okay having put them up for *what was probably even high to ME to be talked down, as anyone selling anything without "Firm price" would usually do.

Yeah, I made a mistake and probably should have researched THIS site more to find the rules, see which ones I may have broken posting here. I am ACTUALLY interested to see what you guys said, so I DID come back, and WILL come back to further expand my knowledge in the true value of what I have.

Aaaaaaand as for being kind of an idiot about "Hardened Aluminum"... Yup. That sounds really dumb after having searched for "Types of aluminum alloy". Holy criminey you guys gotta know a lot of materials. Soooo lets say "CRAP SCRAP ALUMINUM PRACTICE BLOCKS INCLUDED".

I appreciate ANY feedback. Be rude, or not, I don't care. Just be honest. If they're REALLY, SERIOUSLY worth $5 a POUND... Then I'm really in a worse position than I thought. BUT really, even the one that retails for like almost 300 new, that's STILL NEW and un-used isn't worth... anything resale? Like wow. I can post pics of them ALL out of the boxes, close up, multiple friggen angles... Whatever helps people understand what I have (since you guys have already helped me understand the mistakes I made so far).

@ Cyanidekid -- I see why you have the name you do dude, but still appreciate your feedback. The ACTUAL helpful info you threw out is quite nice. I made mistakes in my post - strictly due to lack of knowledge, not intelligence. The End mills have always been in those little plastic tubes, the old buddy (the ACTUAL Machinist) used to just over stock the hell out of everything he used and ended up leaving his "spare new parts" toolbox with me. These details will allow me to give more information to potential buyers, and I will include that from now on if I continue trying to sell them in this way. So really, thank you.

Don't know what your friend did but he appears a little suspect to just have a cheap box, brand new tooling, used aluminum drops, and no tools. If he ran out owing you money what was he doing leaving his valuable tooling behind......

As far as people buying the tooling if it's a great buy(pennies on the dollar) it would pprobably sell. But to give anywhere near 4200 to just have in stock without an immediate job or use is crazy. Think about it.

You might, on a real good day get 200-400 dollars but that's being very optimistic.
