Hi,
Removed a Rumaco D-500 coolant pump (3ph 1/10hp) from a 1962 Modular 10ee.
Pump was originally non-functional, leads had shorted due to insulation failure and impeller was frozen.
Cleaned / de-rusted, and soldered on new leads and added insulation varnish to motor windings, tested motor and runs fine on a VFD I have lying around. Bearings are shielded / sealed type and smooth.
However, in the meantime I got a replacement single-phase pump, so I don't need this one.
So, this is free to anyone who wants to pick it up (northern NJ) or who wants to pay shipping (about 15lbs?). However, caveats are:
- not sure how durable the electrical repair is? It may fail again.
- motor shaft was somewhat pitted from rust, may affect the pump seal effectiveness?
- needs new pump seal, old one was badly damaged and was pressed out. Apparently these are available, is a 1/2" type 6A. Gusher part 84084. Also possibly a US Seal P/N PS-165 (around $35).
Currently wired for 208v 3ph.
Otherwise it's off to the scrap yard.
