FS Erickson Model 401AT

FS: Erickson Model 401AT Pneumatic lathe chuck

I bought this about 15 years ago advertised as a 5C air chuck.
Its not a 5c although a 5C collet drops into the bore, the threads are different.
Requires splitting as shown to access loading of collet, probably a dedicated fixture piece.

Not sure if it works properly if the correct collet were inserted.
Inside is clean, appears the entire unit may have been vapor degreased.

The mounting flange is approx 8" x 1"
Weight about 28lbs

Doesn't sell I'll remove the mounting flange and use it for something.

If anyone has any info on these that would be appreciated.

Are the threads buttress? It could be for an 8w collet. All dimensions the same except length and threads. Threads are same pitch except buttress.

Not sure, they're not at an easily measured spot, not fully threaded thru the back plate

Anyone willing to lend me an 8W collet, I can check for fit

Pulled the thing apart and whats shown may be of practical use to someone

8" diameter
2-3/8 6 thread (there is a raised boss at the base of the threads that could be removed)
(2) pins are a moderate press and removable

Have a 3 or four jaw you want to use on a mill table?
