As someone else has Kennametal indexable drills up for sale, I thought it a good time to post the inserts I have. I got these in a lot of inserts and I don't need them. Don't know enough about them, but maybe they fit the drills being sold in the other post.
These are Kennametal Drilling Inserts, dtf05t308ld, Form W.
There are three full boxes of five plus one extra.
The grade is KC720, which is described by the manufacturer as:
Composition: A tough, durable PVD TiN coating over an unalloyed carbide substrate Application: Developed for cutting high-temperature alloys, most stainless steels, and titanium alloys at low to moderate speeds. Its unique mechanical and thermal shock resistant properties and resistance to edge build-up enable grade KC720 to deliver superior performance and reliability on difficult operations like cutoff and interrupted turning. Consider it to be your problem solving grade. Most ground periphery inserts have a sharp edge, others are lightly honed
They appear to be new and unused.
Carbide Depot has them on sale for $13.28, which would be $212.48 for the lot:
DFT05T308LD KC720
$100 plus shipping.
