L1 Taper Chucks

Potentially looking to purchase an L1 taper 3 jaw chuck for an L&S Powerturn. Haven't purchased the machine yet, but real close to pulling the trigger on one and will need a 3 jaw right away. Appreciate if anyone that has info on a used serviceable or new economy chuck. Preferably no larger than 8". Thanks!

Just so you know - the L1 draw back nut is 7 1/2" dia.

8" chuck for L1 will be unusual likely

I can find them new. Pretty spendy though.

There's a ton of back plates for L1 on eBay, of various sizes.

As for a cheap ready-to-go chuck, there's this literal no-name import, with 2-piece jaws, key and L1 backing plate.

For the price, cheap enough to get you started 'til you can find a better one.

I saw that one! I was just thinking of buying one of those back plates. I saw a used R1 5C collet chuck on there too! I would love to add one of those. I have an ER40 collet chuck for my Chinese lathe. It's pretty slick. Btw, I call my boss Doc too. Been doing that since I was in engineering school back in 02. Lol!
