Looking for south bend heavy 10 rack gear

Looking for the rack gear shaft and gear for a South bend heavy 10 tool room lathe. This is the gear that sits in the apron and drives the rack mounted to the bed to move the carraige.

Shaft is .749" in diameter and the whole shaft and gear is 4.1235" long. Small gear diameter is roughly 1.147". Small gear is 14 tooth and large gear is 48 tooth.

I seem to recall there was something special about the pinion that mates to the rack. Ideally this entire discussion should be in the southbend forum as there are MANY knowledgeable folks there. I seem to recall there was a specific thread about this issue there, recently.
 
I believe it is the stamp on the end of it that indicates the fit. I'm not sure exactly what's different but I assume some of the gears are oversized or undersized depending on the relation to the rack on the bed. In any case I found a replacement and it's shipping today. Thank you for the help.
