    Default Machinist Measuring Tools F/S

After my retirement 2+ years ago and combining what I allready had with the tools from my career with a defense contractor I realize it's time to depart with some of my collection. Some of these are things that any one with a lathe, mill or grinder will find useful; Some are specialized and only an engineer or a true collector will be interested in but all are as described.
I think I have them priced fairly (all prices are less shipping) but if you see something and you think it's off please feel free to make an offer, worse thing that might happen is I say no. I'm am not real picky about payment, if a known member a check is fine, money orders and even paypal works if you are willing to pay their fee for their service. Most of these with a couple of exceptions will ship in a USPS Flat Rate box unless something else is wanted.
If you want something I prefer to have it posted here so anyone else interested will know, I will then send a message and work out the details.
    1) Starrett #R811-1PZ Indicator, Horizontal or Vertical dial graduated .001" reads 0-30-0; new in case and original box. $125
    2) Starrett #708A Indicator, dial graduated .0001" reads 0-5-0 in case with attachments shown; looks and works like new. $100
    3) Brown & Sharpe #7030-5 Indicator, dial graduated.001" reads 0-15-0; In the delux wood box with attachments as shown, indicator was recently replaced with new. $80
    4) Craftsman #40761 Indicator, dial graduated.001" reads 0-15-0 with attachments shown, ID number engraved on bottom. $50

All these indicators work perfectly; I will be adding more to this shortly.

    15) Starrett 1" micrometer in Braille. If I study this long enough I can measure with it. I bought this when I was following a co-worker that told me engineering would buy double tolerance; I handed it to him and told him he might do a better job if he used it. This is in brand new condition but I sure don't know what to ask for it; make me an offer and I may take it.
    16) Starrett #221 High Precision micrometer in case. Has a double thimble, one for thousands and the other for tenths. Case has some wear and smells musty but the tool works perfect. $80
    17) Brown & Sharpe 12" vernier height gage includes the clamp and #585C off set scribe in case. Case shows wear and had been ID.ed but the tool is unmarked and work perfect. $50

Question to a mod. How many posts by a new member need to be made before private messages are enabled?.

    Thanks.

LOL! Oh to have been a "fly on the wall" that day!

How'd that go? New interpretation of the state motto?

I couldn't repeat what was said not because I didn't understand but there was just so much content in a flash in was hard to keep up with.
One things for sure, working in big government contract shops could get interesting, some days much more than others.

Oh, yes! I shall NEVER forget E-Systems offering our small-potatoes, non-threatening firm a JV setup as second source for torpedo guidance PCB's. "Coz' well... DoD REQUIRES more than one source for lots of things.

Pompous, never-bore-arms PhD I was working for was at a loss to make a germane comment about round-disk, large center-hole shaped PCBs..

Finally said: "I notice these parts are classed as "expendable?"

My 'nam vet whisper in his ear? "Jack, MUNITIONS generally ARE!"

    E-Systems guy?

"Trust me, Dr. F..... The LAST thing in this world a US sub commander ever wants to hear is his just-fired Mark 48 coming back home to him!"
