Default Morse taper 5 drill bits

Four Morse taper #5 drill bits. 2 are 1-5/8", 1 is 1-17/32", and one is 1-3/4". 3 look like new old stock, the 1-17/32 might have had some use, but it's ready to drill. 3 are made in England and the 1-17/32 is USA.

$100 plus shipping for all 4

Last week I was at the Carlisle car show and one of the flea market sellers had a 1 and 1/8 inch morse #2 brand new drill bit I bought for $3. I got a chuckle when he told me I could take off the shank with a cutting wheel and use it in a regular drill press.

    ... for WHAT? "Ballast", mayhap?

Largest straight-shank adjustable drill chuck I own - a workalike to a Llambrich "Hybrid" - only opens to 3/4".

"On the other hand.." 7 HP Heavy-Hams-Hans is native 5 MT. So is the 7 HP HBX-360. HS AND TS.

It's actually odd for a helical twist-drill that small to be on an oversized shank.

#5 MT can save adapter-sleeve nuisance ...as well as the stacking-error of sleeving-down. IF... one has the spindle for it, anyway.

But I have these sizes arredy. As MT #3 or #4 shanks.

Somebody else can grab these. Expect longer-life / delivered holes ... than off the all-too-common Chicom MT ones.

The market for large taper drills is unusual in that there is very low supply and very low demand. No standard way to price them. That said, I top out at $20 and that's only in person so I can inspect everything.

That's a good idea, but I'm only willing to visit OK during tornado season. Can you wait for May? My home-made portable tornado shelter should be done by then...

We had 2 come through last week. Fall is tornado season 2.0, but usually much more mild.

I'd be interested, but I think your pricing is a tad optimistic. Do the MA Ford super twisters fair better in a tornado?

    Oh, they fair just fine.

    WTF?

What sort of rigger wants to risk the environmental hassle of trying to haul a septic tank full of 'TDS" decomposition from Cow Hampshire to Oklahoma just so the contents can contaminate used helical twist drills?

Bad enuf' you have spent several years spewing yer TDS insanity all over PM, weren't it?

Leave the poor drills alone, Missed-Millie-Malice.
They are meant for making holes, a** hat.

    Not negotiating wit' one.

I'd go $80 shipped. They'd probably fit in a board game box if it was reinforced a little and taped well.

I'd do $100 and I'd cover the shipping cost to Oregon. If you're interested shoot me a Private Message.

Watching these sizes of drill bits selling on STM Surplus on eBay, prices are not out of line. Of course, you get people bidding on this stuff that have no clue what a surplus price is for stuff like this. No, I am not interested, my days of drilling big holes with big drill bits is way behind me from past lives.
