Dont you have to use their boxes though? I am sure this was discussed in the UPS thread I linked to. Lets try to keep this thread on tool steel.

Interested in 41xx in 1/2" to 1-1/2" thickness, 6" x 8" or larger. Also love the idea of a few flat rate boxes of assorted material.

I too like the idea of a few flat rate boxes of assorted material. Like a fruit basket, but made out of metal...

12" SQ x 6" may be a bit much. A2 in 12" SQ x 2" or 3" might be a better fit. Let me know if that works.

I'm still in the process of moving the material and shaking it out. I know I have several tons of 10" X 2" A2 flat bar from Carpenter. It's going to take me a little longer than I hoped to go through everything but I am working on it.

I would like to be put in line for a 'sample box' if that's what you end up doing. Can't wait to see the inventory list!

What is the prognosis on rounds 1/2" and under in 3-6 foot lengths?

There isn't much in this lot so what little there is I'm going to keep. I can get it fairly inexpensive so if you think that could save you some money shoot me a PM.

This pic is load number 8 and is all A2, about 7800 pounds of it. I definitely under estimated the amount of material which is a good thing. I only have a couple hundred pounds of material left to pick up tomorrow. But I will be spending the rest of the week picking up a 250 ton 10 hp press, heat treat oven, tempering oven, 10 hp air compressor and all the racks the steel was on.

I will be going through this thread and getting back to everyone as soon as I get settled back in.

    I have a fair amount of 8"x 2", 8" x 3", 10 x 2", 10" x 3"

    I'm thinking $2 a pound is a fair price

All kidding aside, i may be interested in a flat rate box of assorted material once you define what it is.

I think I can live with that. Shipping on the other hand may complicat matters. I'm interested in a 10" x 2" x 12" or 18" length whichever I can get away with shipping.

Would you ship it to the north country, M5N2X3 is the postal? I have cousin in Rochester, but I dont think he'd appreciate putting his back out for me.

Otherwise, I may have an alternate plan, but I will be in touch by PM if we have to go that route

I have a saw and some coarse pitch blades I have a few pallets loaded with smaller pieces, most of which can be picked up with two hands. Some of the smaller stuff needs to be shot with an XRF gun to verify the alloy. I also found an 8" dia 10" long piece of brass or bronze when the magnet wouldn't pick it up.

I also have quite a bit of smaller rounds, 1.25"-3.5" in 1144 Stressproof

I use lots of A2, so once you get it sorted, please let me know.

Would also be interested in 4140/4340 bar/plate.

1144 stressproof - can you saw up an assortment of rounds in 1-2" dia and fill a small 1-rate box for shipment to Maine?

I would be interested in some chunks A2 or 01 chunks (to make 2-4-6 blocks) and 2.5''- 3'' round 01, A2, or 4150 once things are sorted. Thanks.
