True, but I find Amazon sells them for the Hardinge price and you can get free Prime shipping. You only need a few sizes to hold inch-shank end mills, so forget buying a "set." Hardinge R8 Round Smooth Collet, 3/8" Hole Size: Workholding Collets: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Actually, Hardinge has them for $42.00 each, Amazon has them for $47-$67. I'm looking for used Hardinge R8 round collets. Yes, I've already bought a few on Ebay. I'm also looking at Crawford collets, made in England, $18.00

Considering the machine you are going to use them one (BP?), using he higher quality Hardinge will only provide value if the machine is new and only used lightly used.

Yes, you are correct. Newly refurbished BP Mill. I only want a few Hardinge R8's in specific sizes., or I'll just buy Crawford collets, $18 each. I like the Hardinge collets because they don't have a step. Easier to insert more length of the tool or arbor.
