Default Wanted: Tool Post Grinder for 13" lathe

    Hi,

I need a tool post grinder (Themac preferred, probably, dumore OK) suitable for a 13" colchester-type lathe. Something with known-good bearings, and ID and OD capability.

Please let me know if you have something you want to part with...

    Thanks,
    Phil

I have a Dunmore - actually I have two of them. I've never used either so I can't address the questions about bearings. I can take some photos if you'd like.

What size of grinder are you interested in? HP, Arbor diameter etc ...

Something in the 1/3 - 1/2hp range, something like a Themac J-35 or equivalent. Something that could do up to maybe 12" deep ID grinding/boring. Maybe a 3/8" arbor? I don't have any wheels yet for it.

    Thanks,
    Phil

That info should help members respond, but the Dumore #14 I have here is a bit small for your needs.

    Good luck,

I have a Dumore 44. You can look up the specs on dumore's website.

Not sure if this is too small, but take a look and let me know.

I have a Themac J45 that I would consider going to a new user.

It is pretty well fitted out with wheels, adapters and spindles etc. Might be a bit large for a 13 inch lathe. I use it on the Mazak Ajax Hercules.

(I really like typing all those names ;-)

    e-mail if interested
