WTB Cast iron surface plate

Looking to buy a cast iron plate to flatten my 18 X 24 granite surface plate.
Also looking for a precision straight edge 18-24".
I am in North Alabama.

How about a cast iron lapping plate instead of a surface plate?

The good news is, I have a nice big cast iron lapping plate for sale. It is 11.5 x 11.5 x 2.5 inches with cross grooves on both faces and lifting pin holes on the edges.

The bad news is, I can barely lift it, so I did not put it on the scales. Calculated weight is 85 pounds less the grooves and holes. That makes it too heavy for a flat rate box, even though it would fit OK. I am not inclined to try to saw off 20 pounds. This is ideal for a cash and carry pick up.

You know UPS ships up to 150lb on their ground service. I plugged the approx. numbers into my account for a 100lb from Sac Ca. to Idaho and it's about $85. Just saying, not the worst thing in the world.
