WTB Granite Surface Plate (~ 3' by 4')

Well ... just like it sounds!

I'm working on restoring a 26" Bertram Shaper and I've decided I need a quality surface plate that is big enough to handle large and/or heavy parts as well as scraping long straight edges.

Any leads on a reasonably priced granite flat?

Hi Tom,
I sent an e-mail a while back.
I have a 6' x 8' x 9" four ledge Rahn grey granite plate for $1000.
I don't know if that is too big?

I'm sorry, I thought I sent a reply. I must have forgotten to do so. I think that is just a little too big for me right now. If I get desperate, I'll look you up again, but I'm not in a hurry to buy one. I'm really hoping the perfect plate just happens to fall in my lap if I wait long enough ...

Hi Tom,
I bought a 3'x4' granite surface plate from your neck of the woods about 6 months ago. Even with shipping it was a bargain. Nice pink Starrett plate on a brown cabinet with wheels, for $250. Last time I checked, they still had a bunch:
