I just got a early 2000s KIA skt25. Working on getting it tooled up. This is my first CNC lathe, so I'm not even entirely sure what all I want/need. I for sure want:
Bushings, 2" OD, for 5/8" , 3/4", and 1" boring bars / drill chucks. Are there advantages / disadvantages the the different types of bushings?
I'd also be all ears for preferred inserts / toolholders, 1"
I'd like to round up a few OD tools (R, L and Neutral), maybe some steeper angle insert tools?, internal and external threading tool, and a part off tool and holder for starters.
Not sure what the get for inserts? It seems like some 35 degree cutters could be nice for getting into tight spots?
I'll mostly be turning aluminum and steel. For the manual lathe I've mostly used ccmt and ccgt. Any general recommendations? Places you'd be looking to find these things?
Oh yea, also looking for a live center. #5 morse taper...
