WTB Van Norman Universal High Speed Attachment

I wish you luck. Not a common item. The universal subhead (no speeder, no quill) is not common either, but it's much more easily found than the universal high speed attachment. In fact, the only one I've seen a non-catalog photo of was on a thread here from several years back where someone found a trove of VNs in a scrapyard, with accessories. A number of people wrote about the accessories, but I don't know if the original poster ever replied. All gone to rust now, I am sure.

If you have one of the larger VN mills, with NMTB50 spindle taper, you can use a standard spindle speeder.

I know this thread is a little old, but given how uncommon these are, I figured it would be worth writing. I just bought a VN no6 today and it came with that head as an extra. Are you still in the market?

Do have any pics you can show us? Is it still available?

LOL! NEVER! I do see its value, but as a home shop, there are other priorities so I am going to be selling it. I held off for a few months to get a better understanding of my mill. I will try to post pictures for prosterity, but I can't seem to get any on this forum for some reason. *edit* its because I was on mobile! Here are some pictures :) IMG_20190621_091817.jpg IMG_20190621_091825.jpg IMG_20190621_091834.jpg IMG_20190621_091845.jpg

These are 2 different items in your 4 pics makingthings?! Are you saying that you have both? I now have a universal with 2" of quil travel. Just finishing up the restore. I'd sure to see pics & measurements of that collet closure - especially on the inside.

Correct, I have both. I can certainly take some pictures for you when I get back home, but I think I may also have the technical diagrams for it somewhere.... I'll have to look.

Ps. That's a pretty job! Every time I scroll passed that dirty universal head picture of mine I feel a bit of shame.... I'll have to clean that when I get home lol

Bunch of picture of measurements! I took pictures of the digital caliper in place so you can see what's what.

Does this head fit the no 12? What are you thinking of asking for them? I'm looking at a no 12 this weekend I'm thinking of picking up and this head would be nice to have.

Just sold the high speed, but I'll be looking to sell the compound head for 400.

Yes, the compound head is still available (not the high speed quill)

I somehow completely missed your reply to my post / inquiry. If you still have the head, I would very much lie to talk to you about it. - Stephen phone : 502- two zero five - 44 seven 1 or, [email protected]

I also have some VN stuff that I might make available, if you are looking.
