Would like to buy(if affordable) collets that match the one shown.

I bought a hand wheel closer setup with the one as shown 3/8" collet 15 years ago and a couple times just clamped the setup in the 3 jaw.
This week I made an adapter for an additional 4 jaw chuck so I made one for the handwheel setup.

I had made a bunch of e collet blanks, but if I can find the real thing, I could save them for a real E.

Or if you can ID the collet correctly .......that would be great

I checked my Hardinge collet catalogs and found Warner & Swasey No. 1 collets. They are made in up to 5/8" order hole or 17/32" hex and 7/16" square.

EBay has some W&S collets. There are many W&S No. 2 collets, but those are larger than W&S No. 1.

These are not numbered either 1 or 2 and no overall length is given, so you would have to ask the seller for dimensions.
Warner & Swasey W&S Collets 14" ROUND A.C. AC VARIOUS SIZES MADE IN THE USA!!! | eBay
Warner & Swasey W&S Collets 14" HEX & SQUARE AC VARIOUS SIZES MADE IN THE USA!!! | eBay

Hardinge lists W&S No. 2-14" collets and they are larger than the W&S No. 1. So you may have a hard time finding more of the W&S No. 1 collets.

You will be glad and sad to know that Hardinge will sell you a new 1 W&S collet for $173 each and up.

I've had these for years and had nothing to put them in and clue what they fit, but they look like yours. There are no identifying marks on them other than having the sizes stamped on the face. some of the bigger bored ones look out of round, but they might still clamp well when in the collet closer(?).

2 1/2" long
7/8" diameter shank at very back
3/4" long taper
1 1/4" diameter back of taper
7/8" diameter front of taper.

There are no draw in threads of any kind. Sizes include 5/16", 9/32", 5/8", 19/32", 7/16"

Mike, Sir
Try small tools in Cleveland. That's a w&s #1 solid collet.. They have them in spades on the shelves at small tools ( or GAHR, the two companies merged and are under the same roof now..) They should be able to hook you up for a bit less than Hardinge...
Hope this helps
Stay safe

Thanks MB collets arrived well packed

Re Small Tools Cleveland, they have some but in the odd fractional sizes.

Would still like to find 1/4" & 1/2"
