Just got a basket case Clausing 20" drill press with a 440v 3 phase 2 speed motor and no controls. Wiring call out is in the table below my schematic of the switch I think I need (6 pole 3 position center off double throw), but the switch I think I can actually GET is this ebay one:
I'm not too clear on the function of the ebay switch from the diagram they provided, but I surely could figure it out with a multimeter. In any case, will that switch do what I need? if not, what do I need? Also the motor draws 2.3A at 440v, and I'd like to run it on 230v. If my calculations are correct I need a 2kva 220 primary 440 secondary 3 phase boost transformer, or single phase one into a VFD which seems more likely to find used...Can I run a 460 primary 230 secondary transformer backwards to get what I need?
