3 phase trans onsingle phase?

Maybe a dumb question but can a 3 p be wired to work on single phase?

Yes, regardless, but...

- The KVA rating needs looked at. It is not the same for both modes. Probably not a show-stopper.

- The most common type has a "shared" iron core, The unused winding and associated Iron are not a positive influence. Not a show-stopper, either, just sub-optimal.

- Another type, sually seen under the "Rex" brand, actually used three single-phase transformers, and they are independently mounted. Dead-easy to use one only, removed to a new mounting or not... but back to point ONE. Check that the KVA capacity still covers your needs.

NB: Rex isn't common, this type of triple-array transformers is even LESS common.
