Hey Fellas.. so i picked up a Emco Super 11 lathe.. says 440 on the back and im hoping i can wire it to 220 3 phase that is ( i have a RPC )

here is a pic from under the motor connection cover20190109_151921.jpg

im hoping one of these schematics is for low voltage...

any help would be appreciated !

thanks,

Joe

That drawing is for a single phase motor. The connections look to be 3 phase, so someone likely changed out the single phase motor for a 3 phase and left that (now useless) drawing in place. Do you have a nameplate on the motor itself?

These are all IEC wiring designations, so most likely this was built as a 380V 50Hz motor, with will work fine (albeit spin faster) on 480V 60Hz. Some 380V motors are reconfigurable for 220V, but that becomes problematic when you apply 240V 60Hz here in North America. The motor may overheat and fail early. You may want to look for a suitable 230V 60Hz rated motor, or forego the RPC and replace it with a single phase motor.
