I have a machine i purchased, all the motor tags are 575volt y. My transformer is 575 volt delta. What if anything do i need to do to use the delta transformer on the y wound motors?
Thank you

The "Y" on the motor nameplate is just telling you how the motor is configured inside. That has ZERO relationship to whether or not your line source is Wye or Delta. All the motor cares about is line-to-line voltage, in this case 575VAC. You are good to go.

What DOES care about whether the source is Wye or Delta is anything electronic, like VFDs. If there is a VFD on that motor, you do NOT want Delta, it will likely destroy it someday. but if there is no VFD, don't worry about it.

so my transformer is delta/delta we fired it up tonight and seems it dont mind the transformer. i just didnt want to smoke anything. thank you for the response tho.
