I just got a vfd in here that some bozo stripped two screw heads on the terminal strip. The screws are designed to not fall out when they are backed off, so must be squished at their ends or something. one is screwed in and the slot is completely ruined so it is not possible to turn in either direction, another is able to be loosened but not tightened due to how that head was damaged, but I don't think the head will hold enough to force unscrew it past the squished part. Looks like they are chrome plated brass. I don't care if the screws will fall out when replaced after the repair, is the best route to drill them out from the top then clean up the threads with a tap and use new screws? I prefer not to desolder this thing...I can clamp the whole works in the mill and drill them out but was wondering if there is a better way.
