I just bought this mill used on Craigslist and I forgot to start up the manual 3rd phase motor and smoked the mill motor. It looks like the motor had already been replaced once with a motor off an old bridgport. From the research I have done it looks like I either have to have the motor rewound or purchase one from H&W machine with an adapter plate and have them modify the pulley to fit the 7/8" shaft. I found this 1 1/2 hp motor on ebay with a 3/4" long keyed shaft and was wondering if I could build an adapter plate and use it as is. Anyone have any idea if this will work? Thanks in advance

You have a shop, what's it for?

Seems as if a mounting plate and boring or sleeving a pulley are pretty routine. Up to you if it is worth the time to do yourself, of course.

BTW, you should have the system set up so you CANNOT "single phase" the 3 phase system, because it has no power unless you have the converter powered up.
