Hello Everyone,

I just purchased an Ex-cell-o 602 that is 575V 2.3A 3PH 2HP. The shop im in only has 240V 1PH, Can I use a smaller 240V 2HP VFD to run the current motor? If not what are my other options. I have already tried looking for 180Y frame motors with no luck. see attached motor Plaque for more details.

I had the same issue with my bridgeport. I ended up having the motor rewound to 230/240 VAC. It was about $400 from a local shop, which included new bearings cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. Well worth the money, to run on a 2 hp VFD.

The only other option is a Rotary phase converter to a transformer, which is the direction I'm going for my tool and cutter grinder.

Great choice in mill by the way!
