I have a 15" Harrison 190 lathe that when power is supplied to the machine, a contactor pulls in and hums at all times. In other words it is using power all the time unless I shut off the main disconnect. I'm not very strong in the electrical field so please excuse me on this. Is it normal for a machine to to do this? It appears that the wiring has been changed around over the years.
