I acquired an old GE motor that's missing its wiring diagram. been reading up and I think I know what to do but just want to be sure...
I've read through this post:
https://www.practicalmachinist.com/...s-and-vfd/9-wire-3-phase-motor-wiring-102888/

and while I don't fully understand all the engineering, I believe that the correct way to wire my motor is
L1--1,6,7
L2--2,4,8
L3--3,5,9

here is the name plate:

I have an American Rotary phase converter which says: " The output of a phase converter is a Delta three phase
voltage."

I'm a bit confused about the differences between wye and delta... how the motor is built, how it is wired, and the type of power being supplied...
So a motor can be built to run on one or the other or either, true?
And w/o a diagram, the only way to know how to wire the motor is by checking continuity between leads?

"Determining wye or delta connection for motors
On delta connected motor lead #s (7,8, & 9), (1& 4), (5& 2), (3& 6) have continuity with each other
On wye connected motors (1,4& 9), (3,6 & 8), (7,2 & 5) have continuity with each other."
