Motor drum switch wiring references Please look before asking

Your first step is to identify the drum switch setup. There are several types, that have different patterns of connections in FWD and REV.

Your second step is to identify what sort of motor you have, single phase, or three phase, and whether it is single voltage or dual voltage.

Your third step is to determine, for single phase motors, if it has a start capacitor and/or a start winding, and whether you have access to that winding via wires in the connection box.

Now you can determine which type drum switch you need, and see if what you have can do the job (in most cases it can, somehow, but in some cases it may not, and in others there may be a better type)
