Hello,
I recently bought an Atlas Colchester lathe that was a basket case.
It has a Leeson motor (cat# 100956.00, model# C4C17FBA).
The motor has 6 wire leads labeled: T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T8
For low volt (I assume 110AC):
CCW L1: T1, T3, T8 L2: T2, T4, T5
CW L1: T1, T3, T5 L2: T2, T4, T8
The Drum Switch is a Furnas A-14/A14. It is a 3 position switch with Off in Center position with Forward & Reverse on opposing sides.
On the bottom of the switch there are 6 terminals A, 1, 2 & B, 3, 4.
The switch has been wired where: white to A, none to 1, gray to 2, black to B, green to 3, red to 4.
The internal connections wiring diagram reads:
Forward: A, 1, 2 B, 3, 4
Reverse: A, 1, 4 B, 2, 3
Any help is appreciate but remember you're communicating with the electronics class idiot!
Keep it simple, PLEASE!
If in this posting I made any faux pas, please accept my apologies.
Thank you. Lou
