I recently picked up a 5hp 3 ph compressor cheap. Leaning towards just putting a 1ph motor. It’s a Baldor m3218t-8 motor, 184t frame, 5hp, 1740 rpm. Can anyone tell me the model number of the 1ph version of this motor? TIA
I would look at the Baldor L1430T, RPM is 1725, single phase, 20.6 amps @230VAC. Doesn't pay to add VFD since since single phase motors are readily available, reasonably priced and a simple install. You will need to change the fusing or overload relay to run on single phase at the motor amperage. Foot print and shaft are the same, the M3218T-8 is a 200V rated 3 phase motor.
