Slip Compensasion Motor Noise

I was testing a Schneider ATV71 drive. At certain speed control Hz settings the motor sounded like it was out of balance. Badly out of balance. So I tried changing a few different settings. Slip compensation had an effect. It can be adjusted from 0 to 300%. Default is 100%. At 95% the noise in the 50-60Hz range stopped, but was still present at lower Hz. I played around with it and 85% pretty much eliminated the noise at all Hz. Lower than 85% didn't help. I didn't try going higher.

As ya'll already know, I understand little about VFDs and electricity in general. Although I am learning. I'm curious as to why slip comp caused/eliminated (not sure which) the noise. Any ideas?
