TECO L510 setup question - FNR lever

hi all, I have a teco L510 on a Bridgeport, and the manual looks to say that if I close (short) S1 to COM, that starts up in FWD, and S2 is reverse. But when I do this, nothing happens. It runs fine when pressing the green run button on the keypad.

I dont think I have to program S1, S2 in any way because it says it is defaulted that way already.

Not even sure how to get into programing as yet, but that shouldnt be needed if I am reading this right

Any tips appreciated!

FOUND IT... set parameter 00-02 to value of 1

press mode,
use arrows until display says 00-02
HOLD the Ent button for a couple secs, display changes to show the "value"
use arrows set that to a 1
hold the Ent button to get out of programming.

now the S1 starts in FWD, S2 starts in REV

(when disconnected, the machine stops)

I can hook the Cutler hammer FNR lever back up

You are going to need to set the control source, which is the keypad now.

Look at the group 00 parameters, page 4-9. Default is "0" for keypad.

You may need to set some more things there.

Yup thanks, I did figure that out eventually. Now to find the acceleration, because I move the lever and its a few seconds before anything turns. I'll find that now that I kinda know how to set these settings...
