i HAVE A
"B075M996VG LAPOND Newest Version VFD Inverter Variable Frequency Drive 220V 3KW 4HP for Motor Speed Control (3KW)"
to power my 220v 3p 3 hp lathe.
with 220v 1P supply.
i previously ran this off a rotary converter , did the wiring , no issues.

vfd is new to me, and 3p is not my cup of tea.

the terminals on my vfd (output) are labeled : U, V, and W.
my 4 wires are red, black , white and green.
i will assume the green still goes to ground,
is there an order for the other three wires ?
thanks

It isn't important which colours go to which terminal. This with the caveat that if the motor runs opposite to the direction that you expect, swap any two of the wires to correct the problem.

my reading has been pointing that way, just new territory for me
thanks.

You cannot hookup a VFD to the 4 wires to your lathe power like you did with your RPC. The VFD input does not use a neutral wire, only 230VAC single phase input power (red and black wire, plus green ground) would be used. The output of the VFD (3 phase) is directly connected to the motor. The VFD low voltage inputs control the operation, I do not recommend connecting the low voltage input to the spindle switch for safety reasons.
