Wire a bench grinder with messy wiring

Hi,

I am trying to wire a single phase 240V bench grinder and I can't figure out how to do it.

Although the motor starts it is wired wrongly with no capacitor involved in the wiring, i have to push the grinding wheel to get it going.

There is an On-Off-On switch which is not the right one and when i flick the switch on the 'On' position the motor it's buzzing. If i push the wheel it goes up to speed with no issues. The strange thing is the direction of the motor, it's random, sometimes clockwise and sometimes anti-clockwise.

The motor has 3 cables, two are thicker and identical to each other compared to the third one.

Sounds like i need a capacitor somewhere in the system, an On-Off toggle switch and somehow connect a capacitor somewhere in the system.

Can anybody help to wire this bench grinder?

Please provide pictures of the motor plate and wires and controls

Show ALL the wires..... for reversible, there are usually 5 wires into the motor. Sometimes 4. If not 5 wires, then that switch is likely the wrong one.
