Hello,
New to the group-- first post.
I just acquired this old turret lathe. I have searched for days trying to find something close to it but have come up short.Side is stamped No 3--- Total weight is about 3000lbs. I am thinking around the year 1910??
I have tore it apart and have everything working smoothly. My hope was to install a chuck, tool holder and some type of slide table but not use if it is worth the trouble. Any Ideas??

Thank you
Larry

Slide can be hand fed to cut off or face or maybe light forming - but any longitudinal turning was by turret - hand fed

There are no power feeds

Any chuck will require making a back plate to fit the spindle nose thread. You can be sure these are not laying around for sale.

By my 1926 brochure, a #4 had a carriage, a feed rod down the front of the bed and power feed on both carriage and turret

I just noticed the drive! If no control over speed of motor - such as a VFD - that thing must have a lowest speed of about 450 - with plain spindle bearings no less - which have no visible means of lubrication
