    Default M1200 mfg. date

My son recently bought an old M1200 lathe in fair condition. It was stamped lot 211 ser. no. 611223 and he has been trying to find out when it was built. Can anyone help? thanks, Paul Selfe. WS employee 1966 to 1982.

Early forties. Thousand were rebuilt during that period and were given newer serials - so there are no 600,000 serials listed in the serial book. 1941 gives 535,000 and 1944 gives 780,000

Thanks for the info. I gather that early 40s would have been the rebuild date, with to history back to original date of mfg.
