For the Field Sales Force at W/S, the wizzardy of our friends in the Machine Order Department was often just as amazing as those unbelievable accomplishments made by those magicians on TV. Especially when the availability of certain models of machines stretched out to 8, 10 or 12 months and beyond, these guys would often find some mysterious way to juggle the Order Board and come up with a delivery promise that would help us land the order. Among those heroes who "saved our butts" on more than one occasion during my tenure were the following:

    Ken Heyworth
    Wil Locke
    Bob Lucas
    Al Webber
    John Hrabak

If I overlooked anyone due to my sometimes fading memory, I apologize.

The value of these guys to us tremenduous, plus they were always one of our strongest, most used, popular communications links with the factory. And, oh yeah, often good for getting us updated on the latest gossip from both field and factory! (What, that box car actually went part way through the wall back near shipping? That new salesman from Detoit actually got maced in a bar at IMTS? That girl did what?)

Thanks to these great members of that old team!
