Hey guys,
A friend just got a nice old #4 with a 10/5 hp dual voltage delco motor. Anyhow he is trying to power it with a 10 RPC and it keeps tripping the breaker after running for a minute or so. None of the belts are hooked up, just the motor with no load. He's not going into "high" just wanted to get it running on the low side ( 5hp). His RPC has a 10 amp breaker and as near as I can tell that's whats tripping.
So my question is Should a idling motor be drawing more than ten amps ?
Thanks in advance
Stay safe

PS yes, I know I could have posted this in the electrical section but I posted it here as it is a Swasey..
