We recently came across this technical test data, which we felt might be of interest. Part of final inspection for the SC bed type machines:
Alignment of spindle with bedways - .001" in 12"
Alignment of turret holes with spindle - (all) .001"
Repeat index to any given turret face - .0001"
Squareness of turret face with spindle - .0005" from one corner to opposite corner
Relation of all turret faces with spindle - .0003"
Facing Test - (Cross Motion) - A 12" diameter test piece must be flat within .0008"
Positioning Accurary - Both Axes - .0005" in 6"
Repeat Positioning - Both Axes - .0003"
