Which U.S. President had a son who owned a W&S telescope mounted in it's own observatory?

I added the observatory bit because there is a W&S Regular Apprentice who also owns a telescope, tripod mounted?

Yours truly

Darn, I was hoping for more curiosity, but it's Abe Lincoln.

His son was Robert and the Telescope was on his property in upstate NY. Robert, among other things, ran the Pullman Company. (Yes, RR cars).

My brother Karl saw the Telescope there a few years ago.

There you are NS.

Well, thanks. I didn't know which president but Robert Todd Lincoln's very large estate is in Manchester, Vermont, pretty close to 'upstate New York' as all you people down there seem to call everything up here.

What do we know about Lincoln's W & S telescope?

I know this is a little off topic, but there was recently a nice write up in the Cleveland Plain Dealer about the Observatory at Case Western Reserve and their W&S Telescope and its history. I'll try to find the article. If I do, I'll make it available for download.
