I've acquired an old Crescent bandsaw that has had the original lower babbitt bearing changed out to pillow blocks. There is some wobble in the lower wheel and I'm thinking I would like to change it out for the original babbitt bearing, But, I'm missing the bearing housings/shells. Any leads to one would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

My 36" had been changed to ball bearing - with what I suppose were factory castings - tubular cast iron, big each end for bearing, and "tabs" on the sides for bolting the casting down. If I find a photo, I'll edit it in

Photo was after I sold it and it went to live at much more elegant facilities. :D

I have a pre 1920’s Canada Machinery Corp 36” that still rides on babbitt. Unfortunately, the lower shells are part of the main frame. I took my lower wheel and shaft to a machine shop and had them balance the assembly.
These big wheels do not have to be out by much to create concern.
Maybe you should try that first.
