Im building a crosscut sled, old one has seen better days. 3 pieces of 3/4 Baltic (11/16) glued together. I put a straight edge on it and thought why not try and Joint and Plane it straight. Ive always heard dont plane or joint plywood.
It actually jointed quite nicely, then thru the planer and same results - perfect, no tearout at all and no complaints from the machines. So then I dadoed for some extrusions for stops and of course it didnt sit quite evenly and thought what the heck thru the planer ( Carbide Insert Head) now its even and flat.
So planing and jointing plywood (Baltic Birch) seems to work just fine.
Title meant to say Jointing and Planing Plywood.
