The staggered pieces are not random enough for my taste. I also like to wear shoes.

It is a floating floor with expansion joints. One of the comments said there are no expansion joints.
I noticed that the installer used small spaces on each wall.

Lots of waste and looks too tacky with no randomness.

Precut the starting ends but used fresh for finishing ends...us cheap folks would have used off cut from starters for finishers as many would have need close.

We also would have randomised starters so it did not look like printed.

I’d say its a collision of the first and third worlds. Knowing how to put down a floor thats based on what might be standard in one culture does not come automatically unless you were born into it or had a lot of time living in that culture.

Could also be he just doesn’t care.
