Screw Cutting on a CNC Lathe Using G76 Code
When machining a screw thread on a CNC lathe we have a few options.
Depending on the version of the FANUC controls, we can use one line of code or two. The two-line G76 method gives us a bit more control over machining the thread, some versions of the FANUC controls allow us to use this style of thread cutting.
In this video tutorial provided by Marc Cronin, senior CNC machine tools engineer and founder of G-CodeTutor.com, we dive into the two-line G76 screw thread cutting cycle and explain what each part of the code does.
