Looking for a new job can be intimidating, even more so if it’s going to be your first. The metalworking industry is no exception. Finding the job offer that matches your expectations, knowing what type of skills the shop owner is looking for, and figuring out how to best present yourself to the employer, highlight your strong points while being honest about your weaknesses are all key aspects to consider in the job-hunting process. As a machine shop owner, Ian has been through the process of hiring new machinists several times, and in this video he shared with us some important tips that can help you raise the possibility to land the job you’re going to apply for.
